About Eric and Pam Bealer
Eric Bealer and his wife Pam were two incredible artists who lived surrounded by the Tongass and the West Chichagof–Yakobi Wilderness Area. They were musicians and loved folk music, and Eric’s masterful and playful illustrations were highlights of Juneau’s Alaska Folk Festivals and the Pelican Boardwalk Boogie. The Bealers left their Sea Pony Farm property to the Sitka Conservation Society’s endowment, the Living Wilderness Fund, and asked that it be used to “protect the place we so love.” Since 2020, SCS has hosted creative retreats and programs with a variety of artists, writers, researchers, and leaders working on projects inspired by and connected to the Tongass and Southeast Alaskan communities. SCS honors the Bealers’ musical legacy by continuing the tradition of bringing folk music to Pelican, and has hosted musicians including Juneau’s Annie Bartholomew.
Event Sponsorships
We are looking for sponsors to support us in putting on the art show and more importantly our work and vision at the Sea Pony Farm property. This summer, we are starting a conversion of the historic barn on the property into a group collaborative space for classes, musicians to gather, and retreat space for art and leadership groups, and could use your support turning the vision for this space into reality.
As a sponsor, you or your company will be listed in promotional event materials including posters and social media outreach. If you are interested in sponsoring or have questions, reach out to us at [email protected] or 907-747-7509.
