Leaving a Legacy
The Sitka Conservation Society has been fighting to protect the Tongass for over 40 years and with your support, it will continue to be a voice speaking out on behalf of the forest forever. Legacy gifts, also know as planned gifts, are a significant way you can contribute to the future of SCS. There are many options for making legacy gifts. Please take a look at the brochure below for an introduction into the types of gifts you can make and follow the links to learn about the Living Wilderness Fund Endowment, Memorial, and Legacy Society. We would be honored to work with you and you financial adviser in deciding what contribution is right for you and your family. Please contact us if you would like more information about leaving a legacy gift to SCS.
The Legacy Society
The Legacy Society was created to recognize those dedicated supporters who have chosen to leave a legacy SCS by making a planned gift. Membership in the Legacy Society is open to all donors who have made such a commitment.
Legacy Society members’ names are included in the Living Wilderness Fund Memorial Book. You can see the list of current Legacy Society Members here.
The Living Wilderness Endowment Fund
The Living Wilderness Fund is an endowment created to honor SCS’s founder and celebrate the lives of dedicated supporters of wilderness. You can learn more about the LWF here.
Living Wilderness Memorial
The LWF Memorial, located in the SCS office, is a beautiful yellow-cedar display bearing the names of our founders and other dedicated supporters of wild places. If you would like to celebrate the life of someone you care for by making a contribution in their honor, please contact us. Their name will be added to the memorial plaque and their story will be included in the Living Wilderness Memorial Book.
